Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a part of Daimler Truck AG, has opened a new advanced Mechatronics Lab at its Oragadam facility. This lab greatly improves the efficiency of software testing for trucks and buses, making the process faster and more cost-effective. Using modern methods, the lab can quickly find and fix software issues, reducing the time required for testing from weeks or months to just days. The lab plays a key role in ensuring that DICV's vehicles not only meet current safety standards but are also prepared for future regulations. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Thimmaiyan, President of Product Engineering & CTO at DICV, highlighted that the lab is central to their innovation efforts and supports their long-term goal of leading in global commercial vehicle technology. Mr. Dilip Shrivastava, Head of Mechatronics and Software Technology, emphasized that the lab can quickly verify and validate hundreds of software features, reducing development costs and time. The lab also allows for the safe testing of complex safety features like Driver Drowsiness Alert and Lane Departure Warning, contributing to DICV's commitment to producing vehicles that are safe, efficient, and valuable for customers.
