Audi is set to launch the third generation of its highly successful Q5 SUV, bringing a complete redesign that blends its timeless elegance with a host of modern advancements. This new model is a pivotal launch for the German automaker in the Indian market, where the Q5 has long been a key player in the luxury SUV segment. The updated vehicle aims to set new benchmarks in design, technology, and driving dynamics, directly challenging rivals like the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.

Futuristic Design, Inside and Out

The new Q5 features a sharper and more athletic exterior design. It retains the signature Audi Singleframe grille, now wider and more prominent, flanked by redesigned LED headlights that give it a more assertive presence. The rear is defined by a full-width LED light bar, a contemporary touch that enhances its sleek look and distinguishes it from its predecessors.

The interior has undergone a revolutionary transformation. The cabin is now a digital-first environment, dominated by a "three-screen" setup. A new 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver is complemented by a large 14.5-inch touchscreen for the main infotainment system, which runs on the intuitive Google Android Automotive platform. For a truly immersive experience, an optional 10.9-inch passenger display allows the front passenger to access entertainment and web browsing, all without distracting the driver.

Performance and Powertrain

Under the hood, the new Audi Q5 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a mild-hybrid system. This powertrain, part of Audi's new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture, is more fuel-efficient and provides a smooth, responsive drive. The engine is paired with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and Audi's renowned quattro all-wheel drive system, ensuring excellent handling and grip in various conditions.

Launch and Market Positioning in India

The new Audi Q5 is expected to make its debut in India in late 2025 or early 2026. This launch is highly anticipated, especially given the recent price adjustments by Audi India following the government's tax reforms, which have made luxury vehicles more accessible. The estimated price for the new Q5 is likely to be in the range of Rs.65.00 to Rs.73.00 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The Q5 is set to continue its legacy as a strong contender in the premium SUV segment, offering a compelling blend of luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology to the Indian consumer.
