The Hero Mavrick 440, launched in early 2024, was Hero MotoCorp’s bold attempt at entering the premium 400cc segment. Designed as a modern-classic roadster, the Mavrick 440 aimed to rival motorcycles like the Harley-Davidson X440 and Triumph Speed 400. With its retro-modern styling and advanced features, it promised a unique riding experience for enthusiasts.
Engine and Performance
The Mavrick 440 came equipped with a 440cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine, producing 27 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 36 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm. Its 6-speed manual transmission ensured smooth gear shifts, while the top speed of 150 km/h made it suitable for both city rides and highway cruising. The bike offered a fuel efficiency of 28–33 km/l, paired with a 13.5-liter fuel tank.
Design and Features
One of the highlights of the Mavrick 440 was its design. It featured USD forks, a circular TFT instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, navigation, and a Type-C charging port. Weighing around 190 kg, it balanced agility with stability, providing a comfortable and relaxed riding posture for both rider and pillion.

Rider Experience
Riders appreciated the smooth and torquey engine, light clutch, and comfortable seating for long rides. However, some users noted that the pillion seat could be less comfortable during sudden accelerations, and the bike tended to heat up in heavy traffic conditions.
Discontinuation
Despite its promising features, the Mavrick 440 struggled to capture the market, with low sales in India. Hero MotoCorp officially discontinued the model in August 2025, ending production and removing it from showrooms.
The Hero Mavrick 440 will be remembered as an ambitious attempt to blend retro style with modern technology, creating a premium roadster for enthusiasts.
