The Indian electric two‑wheeler market has taken a bold step forward with the launch of the Ultraviolette X47 Crossover. This motorcycle is not just another EV—it is the country’s first electric adventure tourer (ADV), designed for riders who want performance, technology, and long‑distance touring ability in one package.

Performance and Range

The X47 comes in two battery options:

  • 7.1 kWh pack with a range of up to 211 km (IDC)
  • 10.3 kWh pack with a range of up to 323 km (IDC)

With a 30 kW motor producing 100 Nm torque, the bike accelerates from 0–60 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 145 km/h. This makes it one of the fastest and most capable electric motorcycles in its class.

Safety and Technology

Ultraviolette has equipped the X47 with advanced features rarely seen in this segment:

  • UV Hypersense Radar (77 GHz) for blind spot monitoring, lane change assist, and rear collision warning
  • Dual dashcams (front and rear) with Sony sensors for recording rides
  • Rider aids including traction control, regenerative braking, hill‑hold assist, and dual‑channel ABS

These features make the X47 not only powerful but also one of the safest electric motorcycles available today.

Design and Hardware

The X47 carries a bold ADV design with a tall stance, beak‑style front, and muscular bodywork. It offers:

  • 200–208 mm ground clearance for rough roads
  • 41 mm USD forks and rear monoshock with long travel
  • All‑terrain radial tyres for better grip on highways and trails
  • 320 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc brakes for strong stopping power

Touring Ready

Adventure riders will appreciate the optional touring accessories:

  • Hard panniers (32L) or soft panniers (30L)
  • Top box, crash guards, knuckle guards, and luggage racks
  • A special Desert Wing Edition with unique paint and touring add‑ons

Price and Variants

The Ultraviolette X47 is priced at Rs.2.49 lakh (introductory, ex‑showroom) for the first 1,000 bookings. Later, the price will increase to Rs.2.74 lakh. Higher trims like the Recon and Recon+ go up to Rs.3.99 lakh, depending on battery size and features.

Competition

The X47 competes with petrol ADVs like the KTM 250 Adventure and KTM 390 Adventure X, but it stands apart as an electric motorcycle with radar technology—a first in India. Compared to Ultraviolette’s own F77 Mach 2, the X47 is more affordable at entry level while offering touring practicality.

Conclusion

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover is a game‑changer for India’s EV market. It combines performance, safety, and touring comfort in a futuristic package. For riders looking to switch to electric without compromising on adventure, the X47 is a strong contender.
