Yamaha has officially introduced the YZF-R9, a new addition to its iconic R-series lineup for 2025. Designed for riders who crave both track-ready performance and street-friendly comfort, the R9 is set to redefine the mid-weight supersport category.
Powered by an 890cc inline 3-cylinder CP3 engine, the YZF-R9 delivers 117 hp at 10,000 rpm and 68 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm, ensuring an exhilarating ride on both city streets and open highways. With a wet weight of 430 lbs and a seat height of 32.7 inches, this bike offers a perfect balance of agility and stability.
The YZF-R9 features dual Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers with 320mm front discs, Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tires, and a comprehensive electronics package including ride modes, traction control, and a quickshifter. Yamaha has also added MotoGP-inspired winglets to improve aerodynamics and handling at high speeds.
Available in Team Yamaha Blue, Matte Raven Black, and Intensity White/Redline, the 2025 YZF-R9 is priced at $12,499 USD in the U.S., with the Indian launch expected in March 2026 at around Rs.12,00,000 – Rs.14,00,000.
