The BYD Atto 3, a popular electric SUV in India, has received a significant update, elevating its appeal with enhanced technology, new features, and subtle design refinements. This isn't a complete redesign but a crucial model year update that makes an already strong contender even more compelling in the competitive electric vehicle market. The facelifted Atto 3, with its focus on user-centric upgrades, solidifies BYD's position as a leader in India's EV revolution.

Subtle Design Tweaks, Major Impact

On the outside, the Atto 3 Facelift maintains its sporty and futuristic silhouette, with a few key changes that give it a cleaner and more modern look. The "Build Your Dreams" lettering on the tailgate has been replaced by a more minimalist and elegant "BYD" logo, a change seen on the global model. New dual brake lights on the roof spoiler and redesigned alloy wheels complete the exterior updates. A new Cosmos Black exterior paint option has also been added, offering a more sophisticated color choice.

An Interior Built for Comfort and Connectivity

The most significant changes in the updated Atto 3 are found inside the cabin. Responding to customer feedback, BYD has introduced ventilated front seats, a highly practical and sought-after feature for India's warm climate. The car also gets a new all-black interior theme, which provides a more premium and understated feel compared to the previous dual-tone schemes.

The centerpiece of the cabin, the rotating infotainment screen, has been upgraded to a larger 15.6-inch unit on the top variants. This new screen now offers wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a major improvement that enhances user convenience and connectivity. The car's low-voltage lead-acid battery has also been replaced with a lighter and more durable LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, further improving the vehicle's longevity.

Performance and Safety

Under the hood, the Atto 3's proven powertrain remains unchanged. It is powered by a 201 bhp electric motor paired with BYD's ultra-safe Blade Battery. The car continues to be offered with two battery pack options: a 49.92 kWh unit with an ARAI-certified range of 468 km and a 60.48 kWh unit that delivers an ARAI-certified range of 521 km.

Safety remains a top priority, with the facelifted model retaining its 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. It comes equipped with a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite that includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Automatic Emergency Braking, providing an extra layer of security for drivers and passengers.

Pricing and Availability

The updated BYD Atto 3 has already been launched in India, with an ex-showroom price starting at Rs 24.99 Lakh. The company has structured its pricing competitively, making the new variants a strong value proposition in the premium electric SUV segment. With its refreshed design, enhanced features, and a proven powertrain, the facelifted Atto 3 is well-equipped to maintain its strong presence and attract a new wave of electric car buyers in the Indian market.
