Volvo EX90 2026: Electric Luxury SUV Coming to India
The Volvo EX90 2026 is set to become Volvo India's flagship electric SUV, bringing a combination of three-row practicality, premium comfort, advanced safety technology and long-range electric performance. Volvo has confirmed that the EX90 will launch in India on 12 October 2026 alongside the Volvo ES90 electric sedan.
The EX90 is positioned as Volvo's fully electric counterpart to the XC90 and is designed for customers looking for a large luxury SUV with an all-electric powertrain.
Volvo EX90 2026 Design
The EX90 follows Volvo's modern Scandinavian design language. It features a clean front profile, distinctive LED lighting, a closed-off grille area and a large SUV body designed around aerodynamic efficiency.
Its large dimensions provide a spacious cabin, while the three-row layout makes the EX90 suitable for family-oriented luxury SUV buyers. The model measures 5,037 mm in length and has a 2,985 mm wheelbase.
Volvo EX90 2026 Battery and Performance
For India, Volvo's current specifications list the EX90 with a 106 kWh battery pack and a twin-motor all-wheel-drive system. The powertrain produces 335 kW, equivalent to 456 hp, and 670 Nm of torque.
The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 5.5 seconds, while its electronically limited top speed is 180 km/h. Volvo India lists an electric driving range of up to 625 km, although actual range can vary depending on driving conditions, temperature, road conditions and driving style.
Volvo EX90 2026 Charging
The 2026 EX90 uses an 800-volt electrical architecture, an important upgrade over the previous 400-volt system. Volvo says the new system improves charging performance and efficiency.
With a compatible 350 kW DC fast charger, the India specification is listed with a 10 to 80 percent charging time of around 22 minutes. Volvo also says the upgraded EX90 can add up to 250 km of range in 10 minutes under suitable charging conditions.
Charging time can vary according to charger capacity, battery temperature, weather conditions and the vehicle's state of charge.

The Volvo EX90 features a minimalist premium cabin centred around a 14.5-inch central touchscreen and a 9-inch driver display.
